Technology

The novelty of ReWalk™ is in the unique manner in which the user is actively involved in the walk-restoration and other mobility functions, through the control processes. Utilizing sophisticated algorithms, body movements are analyzed and used to trigger and maintain walk (gait) patterns and other modes of operation (such as stair-climbing and shifting from sitting to standing). User stability and safety during ambulation is secured by concurrent use of safety means such as crutches for walking, railing for stairs and sophisticated software.

The ReWalk™ comprises light wearable brace support suit, which integrates motors at the joints, an array of sensors, computer based control system and rechargeable batteries.

The ReWalk™ is a new realization of the powered exoskeleton concept, first tried about fifty years ago with no success. Employing an innovative, non-robotic design approach, it uniquely matches the user's capabilities with the control mechanisms.
